Achema is a leading manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers and chemical products in Lithuania and the Baltics. The stock company Achema was established in Jonava city at the confluence of rivers Neris and Sventoji. A convenient geographical site predetermined the location of the factory. Highway and railway systems connect the enterprise with other cities of Lithuania and ice free ports of the Baltic Sea. There are plenty of various items in Achema’s product list - nitrogen and compound fertilisers, adhesives, paints, resins, industrial gases, other chemical products and intermediates. Achema numbers over 1.7 thousand employees; annual fertiliser production exceeds 2 million tons. The roots of the company lie in 1962 when construction of nitrogen fertilizer factory was started near Jonava city at the confluence of rivers Neris and Sventoji.
